No news (I'm sure there won't be any).

Elaine, when you join Dollar Express you give them your credit card details then you don't need to give them a credit card to swipe when you arrive at the desk (no matter how many times they ask you to!) and you go straight to the front of the queue. That is if we can still use it....any news from Roger yet?

Following on with this thread, we had an experience along these lines when arriving in Miami a couple of weeks ago. We had pre-booked through Roger with Dollar Express, we received the voucher complete with Dollar Express ID number on and the rep in Miami Dollar said we couldn't use the voucher with Dollar Express. He said you either have one or the other. As he was not very clear with what he was saying, I enquired if he meant that we shouldn't pre-book but he said "just carry on doing it the way you are"! He didn't seem very clear with what he was saying and he still took my husband's credit card for all the details on that and keyed everything into the computer from the voucher. We have never had this problem before in Orlando and do sometimes get a free upgrade but not this time. In fact, the car they tried to give us had a broken petrol flap and when we refused that one, they tried to give us a compact car (in place of the intermediate we had paid for). We eventually ended up with a Mustang (bright orange in colour but my husband was pleased to have the Mustang and didn't mind the colour!!). Having stood out in 90 degree temperatures in the Dollar car park, waiting for them to sort it out, I was just happy to have any car so I could feel a bit of air conditioning blowing on me!! I must say, this was a completely different experience in Miami to any we have had in Orlando. Or maybe they have changed their policy??? We will await any advice/comments from Roger or anyone in the know!!

I have just collected my car with Dollar from Orlando. I didn't need to jump the queue as I was the only one in line, but I gave the lady my express card and she couldn't have been nicer. I have no idea if I got an upgrade. I booked economy as it is only me and got a Ford Fusion, but it does have a very big trunck so I did wonder

Shirley, a Ford Fusion is a mid-size, so it definitely is an upgrade, its a big car. We also got one, bit of a gas guzzler compared to the Avenger or Sebring, though, but it does have a V-6 engine! [msnwink]

Booking directly with Dollar would cost an arm and a leg in comparison.

Have to agree with Ellie - we've had no problem at all with Dollar Express at Orlando booked through this site

i was only saying what has been posted above,

seems the problem is at Miami anyway.

but in case anyone is worried book through dollar then you have no issues.
all depends on how long you are willing to stand and queue for.

i'm not willing to queue anymore , almost every other time i have gone out to orlando (with the exeption of feb last year)we have stood in the queue for well over an hour.
when there's 8 kids in the party , not an option anymore.

and i dont think dollar is that expensive direct. you just have to be carefull on what insurances they try to sell you at the counter.Oh and they are Partners with Virgin so you get more flying club points
