Credit card needed when arrive to pick car up

hey im new to this forum, just booked to florida for the first time ever, and trying to book car hire, when i go into the terms and conditions to book it says a credit card is required as deposit when we pick up car, is there a way around this? as in money deposit? or does anyone know a company that doesnt require a credit card,

i have lost my credit card and my new one wont be here in time for the holiday plus its to be in the drivers name which is my boyfriend but he doesnt have one!

A Visa Debit card is OK as well as a credit card.

Also, if you select Dollar from our site and you are on the Gold option collecting from MCO then you will not need any type of card.

I can confirm that we were not asked for a credit card when we picked up our Dollar car (Gold option from this site, of course![msnwink]) on Sunday.

does this apply when the driver is under 25 though? as ive just spoke to the dude at budget and hes saying most companies dont accept a visa debit card unless the named driver is 25 or over which my boyfriend isnt, and i cant go as the named driver as i cant drive

also im looking to get the young drivers licence thing so we dont need to pay locally the 25 usd, does dollar offer this as ive tried a few companies.

If you have a young driver then you will need a car to pay for the surcharge on collection. Again, Visa Debit is OK for this.

You can pre-pay the Young Driver Surcharge and also save money by using the 'Young Driver Package' we offer through Budget. See http://www.uscarhire.co.uk/faq-booki...edure.aspx#145 for details.

so roger even though its a budget car hire and im doing it through uscarhire, i take it its their terms and conditions that apply, not budgets, as budget informed me that they dont accept visa debit cards unless the person is over 25.

im getting myself all confused with this, dont want to book and get told at sanford that ive lost my money and i wont be getting car hire due to no credit card,

am i best doing the gold dollar then paying the 25usd over there
