Question: 2nd Driver arriving a week into the trip

    Hi,

My 2nd driver is arriving after the 1st week into the trip. I'm going to hire a 4x4 with Silver Option from Dollar. Can I add this additional driver at no extra cost even though I will have already had the car for a week?

    Thanks!

I do this quite a bit, as Hubby arrives after us usually, I pick him at the airport and he takes the papers to the desk with his licence and signs the insurance forms, and thats it.

    Thanks Ceri.

I've been booking cars on other sites, not adding the option of extra drivers at the time of booking and then either adding the additional driver when they arrive or making two complete separate bookings (one for one driver and another for two drivers). Oh and I've been stung for extra insurances etc in the past as well. I've spent a fortune on car hire, not to mention the messing around.

I just can't believe it's much simpler and cheaper than the options I've taken in the past. I'm definitely booking through this site this time!

My parents arrive in Florida a week before us and we leave a week after them, although they will be picking up the car we are then hoping to keep it after they have gone, will this be OK providing we let the hire desk know when we arrive.

    Thanks

Paula assuming you are taking the gold option for the extra drivers and that you are doing complete weeks, would it make more sense for your parents to give back their car and you all to hire one for the next 2 weeks. That way you would get the extra tank of fuel as you have to go to the desk anyway.
