from what I've read the controllers and numchucks work so hopefully the wii fit one will too, can you buy the games in the UK separately though or does it come with the hardware here?

    Thanks

I would think that a Wii Fit bought in the US won't play on a UK console, as there is a disc as well as the Wii Board, and other Wii discs bought in the US won't play in the UK.

    I hope that makes sense[msnscared]

    Hi

You can play US games on a UK Wii simply by purchasing a freeloader disc which is inserted into the Wii before inserting the US disc into the UK machine. There was a similar disc for the Nintendo gamecube. Our son has tried it and it works with the 2 US games he brought back after being in Florida at Easter so he will be purchasing some more on our next trip but you do have to check as some US games are cheaper than than their UK equivalent but some are not.

The freeloader disc did mention that the firmware should not be updated as this may cause the freeloader disc not to work correctly but not a problem with our machine.

We have tried to do the same in reverse - a UK version of wii fit on a US console but it doesn't work. We have a freeloader disc that allows us to play some UK games on our console but obviously Nintendo have upped the anti on this one because even that doesn't work.

You wee need a US based freeloader disk (if there is such a thing, no need for one to be marketed), the UK will not work.
