Boggy Creek Airboats - East or West?

We are going to Orlando in April-May 2004 and on the last day - 12th May - we have a late flight. We have decided to do one of the two Boggy Creek Airboat rides that day, but are not able to decide which one. Our rental villa is in Orange Tree and the owner has kindly permitted a 5pm vacating time, so we have some flexibility. Our plan is to go in the morning if we are going to the WEST boats, have lunch there and be back in the villa to pack & leave by 5pm; but if we decide on the EAST boats, we will have to pack & clear out after lunch, do the Airboats and continue to the nearby Airport. Which is better?

I've 'done' both locations and I think the west location (in Southport, near Poinciana) is the better of the two. Both locations have a similar experience but there is far less general water based activity at the west location and we saw a lot more wildlife there than at East Lake Toho. Having said that, don't blame me if the wildlife goes into hiding the day you visit!

Blott, is the 'west'location, signposted off the 192? If not do we head down Poinciana Boulevard and then pick up signs? We are over in two weeks and intend to do this for the first time.

Yep, head down Poinciana Boulevard until you almost get into Poinciana. At the traffic light junction with Pleasant Hill Road, continue straight (signposted Southport) and see a bit of genuine Florida on the way! Boggy Creek Airboats are on the left. There's a picnic area and a small cafe there also.

    Have a great time!

Hi, never been on an Airboat ride so I'd appreciate any comments
on the trip ie how long does it last, is it worth doing etc.

    Thanks

Thanks people. So we'll head West too. Also, this will mean that we go in the morning, which is probably a bettr time to see the animals anyway.

Check out their website at http://www.bcairboats.com and yes, we think it's worth doing but then we're into wildlife. If you're not, then it'd be a waste of money for you.

Blott, This can't be far from the 'Disney Wilderness Reserve' is that worth a visit? Could you do both in 1/2 a day?
