We had one of the new chargers when we rented one in Houston last year. I'm used to driving a Peugeot 307 and this charger does seem BIG when you start driving. However, for performance with the name of all that the charger name should be, i was rather disappointed.
so wilf would you you go for the magnum?

Can't say, as i've never driven one, but i certainly wouldn't pay extra for a charger.
Isn't the magnum an estate version of the charger?
We currently have a Dodge Avenger, which looks like a family version of the charger, and it drives about the same as a charger.
I've read that Chrysler 300 is nice [msncool]
We had a charger last year in San Diego. I totally fell in love with it but I guess it depends on what you are looking for!! I drive a diesel Discovery so I didn't think it was big but I thought the performance was good. Can't comment on the Magnum.
I would not reccomend the magnum. It east up gas like there is no tomorrow and with gas prices these days...Horrible.I had to fill up about every other day going to and from work..but I will admit..they sure were fun to drive!!!!!
Just had a Magnum for 2 weeks and I loved it. Put about $75 dollars of petrol over our hols - drove around 650 miles [msnsmile2]

We have had a Magnum before and I would definately recomend them

We have just had a Dodge Charger. I only drive a Focus or husband's Jag (when I am allowed!) but felt quite comfortable driving it. We only filled up once - near empty tank cost $60 to refill but still much cheaper than the UK.
We turned down a Magnum, as being a hatch back there was a only a tannoy cover. If you are touring around a Charger with a proper boot may be safer.

We recently had a Dodge Charger for a couple of weeks, all noise and no go. Looked good though.
