    Air sickness

I have been flying to Florida for three or four times a year for the past 20 years. I have always enjoyed the flight whether direct or indirect and ate everything that was put in front of me! However for the past few times, after a couple of hours, despite drinking plenty of water, I have had a bad head ache, upset stomach and felt quite sick. I dread the meal service as the smell of the food makes everything worse.
Sorry if this is too much detail!
Does anyone else suffer like this?

yes, our daughter. She now takes a antihistamaine with a sedative (phenergan) before the flight (it was recommended by the GP) and doesn't drink any milk on the day or eat anything on the flight. It only seems to happen on the way home though, which is fine as if she can get to sleep then it passes quicker. We have to book seats as far away from the galley as possible.

Last year she bought an abercrombie hoody and a huge spongebob toy and as soon as she boarded she put the hood up and buried her head in the huge pillow and that was her till we landed, sorted!!

    Good luck!

Yes our son has started to suffer, he is worst when coming into land, we have tried alsorts we even bought a watch(not a time one) which is used by cancer patients and divers etc which is for motion sickness but he said that made it worse, as this only started a couple of years ago and he had travelled loads before we are hoping he grows out of it! we have jusr come back from spain and he was fine and the last years flight from Florida was OK, so fingers crossed for July, I can deal with many things but I hate[sick] so hubbie is left for this !

Thanks for your help. Strangely I only suffer on the way over.I was thinking about trying travel bands next time. We are not due to go again until July so I have time to do some more research.

Yes, Dramamine are the things to take only available in the US, used to get them here in the UK but were taken off. We always get supplies for our Son.

2 of my daughters also get sick but only on the way home and only on long haul flights. I thought they were odd! They are fine whilst asleep but wake up as we get near and there is more noise going on and then it starts.

'Sea bands' are very good, as long as you put them in the right place. Worth a try as they are non-invasive. Good for pregnancy sickness too, though I am way too old to need them for that! (sadly[msncry])

my son had a bad meal once on the plane and was sick, so everytime we flew after that he was ill, it even got to the point he was sick leaving our home and didn't stop till he got in florida. I went to a hypnotist with him and after a couple of sessions he was cured. Extreme it may sound but it worked.
