It's not just bad luck that comes in threes!

Well sitting here cramming for the last time before my final exam this year and just had a nice surprise which is the third one is so many days.

    1. A couple of weeks back, DH came home and handed me a piece of paper, out of the blue and on it was details of a holiday he had booked for us next weekend over the German May bank holiday as a treat as I was having withdrawal symptoms from Florida. So off to Puerto Banus for 4 days, staying in a posh pad with Casino (oh no), could do with some sun though so it's 4 days of lazing around drinking sangria, munching Tapas, Paella and maybe some bubbles if we are lucky in the Casino.[msneek] Doubley pleased as only have a week to wait when we get back and we are off to Florida[msncool]

    2. Got an email from DH Saturday afternoon and couldn't believe what I saw so called home and told we had had a win on the Scottish Grand National, now this was a £40 bet on a 125/1 outsider which of course won[party2]. (We had 2/3/4 in the Grand National the week before) so lots of celebration that afternoon. Has a small spree in Birmingham yesterday with some of it

    3. Finally as I am cramming for my exam I have just received an email to say I have won a Channel tunnel crossing for a vehicle plus 4 passengers which I entered last week. (DH won one about 2 months ago so we have 2 to use now)

Must be the luck of my Irish genes[lucky] now back to the books.......

I'll magic some your way girls.

Just remembered another post I made re the subject of being lucky a while back and had a look to see what we had won and found this wee list

    ************************************************** *****************

After another win yesterday, bonus ball in office swepstake, Mr CDV has to be the luckiest person when it comes to raffles etc. I am also quite lucky and only yesterday took a phone call from a well known car magazine to say I was in the final runing for a sports car. A prize draw I had entered at the airport before our November trip to Florida. I will find out on the 13th, not expecting it but I guess someone has got to win!

Over the last 3 years we have won:

Half a dozen amounts of money all over 500 pounds and one of almost 2000 pounds.

    Digital widescreen flatscreen 32inch TV

    Technics home cinema surround system

Flight tickets to Orlando (July this year)

Numerous prizes on radio stations and at office party raffles etc, cd players, mp3 player, booze, food, chocs etc. Lucky on the lottery and quizzes also.

So are we alone or is lady luck amongst you?

    ************************************************** ****************

Definately those Irish genes[lucky]. Now off to choose some lotto numbers.........

now send some this way pls [msnwink] i have irish ancestors too as does dh, perhaps he was right and we should have given James a fine irish name (he wanted to name him Finbar) [msneek] then we may have had some luck come our way

whenever i moan about never being lucky dh always has just one retort in that he reckons i won the biggest prize ever when i caught him [msnoo]

good luck with those exams [lucky]

You and me both, every friday I play poker at a local casino. I usually enter a tournament and then go onto the cash tables (cash is my best game). Overall I do pretty well but last Friday I was incredible.
We had gone to different casino to our regular one. This one is somewhat 'posher' and it has a very good restaurant. So myself and 3 friends had arranged to eat there. The bill for the 4 us was £120. I asked for the bill, only to be told that the assistant manager had 'comped' us??? I asked whey and he simply said you are Martin Lewis aren't you? As this was our first time there either they had being misinformed about my gambling habbits and though I was a 'big fish' (which is a mistake as I probably cost the casinos money by only playing poker) or they had simply mistaken me for another Martin Lewis. Either way who was I to argue.
I came second in the tournament (which I dont normal do well in) and got paid £1500. The cash game I started with 200 and walk away with 1800 profit. Then on the way to the cashier I had 3 x £5 chips loose in my hand. With my luck as it was I dropped it all on a three card poker table in one bet (I never play the table games due to the house edge). Amazingly I had a straight flush which pays 35 to 1!!! So another £500 up.
Very nice timing as we have just an extra drive and parking space put in at home. I bought some lotto tickets on the way back but nothing..

You know who Martin Lewis is don't you? He's the one that saves everybody money and is encouraging everyone to challenge the banks etc. about unlawful bank charges.[msnsmile2]
