well roger lets hope their reply to your email explains it and not a load of excuses. maybe one of the reasons why they take 6 weeks to reply to complaints hoping it might go away.

forgot to add if i was to book a car i would still this site for price and peace of mind.
it wasn't this site that let me down. i could of gone through any agent and got this problem.
Like Roger says, you never hear from the vast majority who don't have a problem.
Personally have used both Dollar and Alamo and prefer Alamo as i had a problem with Dollar.
On another day it may have fine though.
I use Alamo all the time...never any problem....apart from the hard sell ...I now use the kiosk...
If the car I ordered is not in the parking lot...they upgrade me there by telling me to take the next car up...the people where you pick up your car in the parking lot are always very helpful...
That's exactly what they are supposed to do, and it's very rare for it not to work like that.

We have used both Alamo and Dollar and had no problems with either. We do prefer Alamo though because we can choose which car we want.
We arrived and got the straight away complimentary "oh you booked a seven seater Jeep Comander...how many in your party(responded 5)...5 ?? oh you should upgrade to and Esplanade...." and so after asking her to do some maths she then went quiet..
However we had a problem as engine managment light came on with smell of burning so got to Dolphin Hotel and went to car hire desk and they were very helpfull in getting me sorted out with another veh (Dodge Durango) although i had to drive to MCO to pick it up as they didnt have one there. So although i do moan about Alamo i will praise where its due and Jeanette at the pick up kiosk at MCO was brilliant and so helpfull i have e-mailed Alamo to inform them..
