    west palm beach airport

    Hi Folks ,

Hope you can help , we are looking for flights at New year from Glasgow ,and have been offered really cheap flights that are flying into West Palm Beach Airport . Has anyone flown into this airport before? and do you know how long away is it from Davenport / Kissimmee area.

    Thanks

I had a quick look at this airport, it looks like a handy airport to get in and out of . It might be an option if the flights are considerably cheaper. You could also stay over night and see another part of florida too and then make your way leasurely towards Orlando.[msnsmile]

Hi Angela - We flew into West Palm beach Airport after a trip to the Bahamas. The drive back to the Orlando area was around two hours and pretty straight forward (in torrential rain if I remember correctly)
I am always interested in cheap flights to Florida from Glasgow - who flies into West Palm Beach?

To be honest Angela I would be less worried about the airport and more concerned about the flight. If it is really cheap and flying from Glsgow, I am making the assupmtion it is one of the budget airlines.
With the stories we have heard about Globespan and some of the problems that people have had with them (I know there are some good stories too but the measure of any service is how well they cope when things go wrong which we all know from time to time will, and New Year from Glsagow could well be affected by weather.
Maxjet have just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection so have six months to restructure if possible At least one other airline (can't remember name offhand has stopped flights and with rising costs the smaller ones are going to be pushed to make the numbers work to stay in business.
If you go ahead I would say at least make sure you pay by credit card to get some protection if things go wrong (but I believe if an airline is already in Chapter 11 when you book then the credit card companies won't cover it, I've read in the small print.
