    Hi Ellie

I fly in and out of there as often as anybody on this forum and hate it.

I am with Ellie I detest Marmite and love Miami and have never had any delays or problems with Miami airport.

Our son spent a year studying part of his marine biology degree at University of Miami and spent the year there quite happily walking, using public transport and roller blading around without any problems day and night. We often go back with him as he still has friends in the area.

Third, I know Dollar pickup is just across the airport road in the car park.

BTW - Have you considered flying into Fort Myers? It's a great new modern terminal. No hassle with baggage, car rental within the terminal and it's right beside I75 (and the staff there even speak English). You can be in any of the SW Florida Gulf Coast resorts in less that an hour.

Compared to flying in and out of the zoo that's Miami airport, it's a breeze

I have looked at Ft Myers but I can't find a direct flight from the UK. They all seem to require a change and that makes the travel time at least 12hrs. (Also, I need the air miles on Virgin to try and bump the family to a premium economy on our next trip)

I suppose I could stay in Orlando and visit a favourite restaurant, or get closer to Tampa and do an overnight.

(I used to be indecisive - but now I'm not sure!)

As for driving for 3hrs I have a very good tolerance to doing that and I just go into trance. I love listening to USA Radio Talk and WDBO Orlando is favourite - so I might just do it.

As an aside I love The States and wish I was a citizen. I once did a November trip by myself on the hook that I "just wanted to be an American for ten days. I'm a news freak for USA politics, especially Fox) What's it called? "Living The Dream"?

We also used RSW a lot and it is a great airport but as yet there are no direct flights from UK (We flew direct from Germany when we holidayed on the gulf coast pre villa and even when we bought the villa if the price was right we used RSW and drove up).
