Car Hire for 19/20 year old

    Hi,

I am going to Orlando in September with a group of friends. However we would like to hire a car. The obvious problem is that we are too young. All of us have been driving for over 2 years and we would only want one designated driver.

The only company I have found so far is E-Z Car Rental and I haven't heard much about them and they are in Orlando International Airport (we are flying to Sanford).

Does anyone have any other companies that will hire to under 21s?

Also does anyone know when I can book with U-Save again, or why can't I just go to them directly?

    Thanks

I had not heard of anyone doing U21's but your right the firm you quoted does with a $25 a day surcharge (plus tax of course) but they do not appear to have a depot at Sanford.

U-Save used to offer age 19+ through us, and age 21-24 with no surcharge.

They now do not have a UK distributor, and booking directly with them means age 21 and over only.

I heard yesterday that we may get a new deal with a different company soon (I can't say who at this point, but it's a big supplier, based at the airports too). This will be similar to U-Save with no charges for age 21+, but I'm not sure they will be doing age 19 and 20.

That's all I can say for now, and once I can say more I'll announce on the forum (please don't send emails at this point asking for more info, as I can't give any time scales or elaborate any futher).

So it looks like EZ-Rent-a-car is my only choice at the moment. Has anyone got any reviews of them?

As I am going in September I would hope there is another option for me to rent a car by then. It really is a stumbling block for young people when they go to Florida.
