    i need a favour/ opinion

i have been told that coral reef in restaurant in epcot may be a good place to take my children for a late lunch when they get a bit stressed/ overstimulated by the parks, i have been told it's cool and a relaxing "chill out" place to eat but looking for a review i have read one or two that mention it as noisy

so can anyone help guide me?

if you have been recently can i ask what you thought
    or
if you anyone is going to epcot and can nose inside for me to check it out pls can you come back and offer me some honest feedback

i know it's not one of disneys cheaper restaurants so i'm trying to get some insider knowledge before we make a expensive mistake

    thanks in advance [msnsmile]

I would have thought in Epcot that the Mexico restaurant may be quite a peaceful place to eat, mainly due to the twilight lighting. In saying that, we have never indulged, so can't comment.

I am not a fan of Coral Reef and if I wanted to take children somewhere for lunch to let them chill down I would choose Germany and include the show. The food is a casual buffet $20 for adults and $11 for the under nines . If you read the menu it souds very german and sauerkraut but it is actually varied and has a good mix of child friendly and veggies. The show is simple but fun and the atmosphere is dimly lit and cool but not dark and formal like Mexico.
Coral Reef is pricey and although novel with the big fish tank, not particularly child friendly.
In Germany, if you check what time the shows are on then you can time your meal to coincide with one.
Lunch starts at noon and finishes at 3-45. Go to early show rather then late as the food is usually better early on.
If you are not a big group you may be seated with another family. This can work either as a plus or minus.

The other thing we like about Germany is that we have never felt obliged to leave because we have stopped eating. In some of the restaurants I sometimes feel that my time is up before I am really ready to go.

Good tips about Germany Angela, I must admit the menu has put us off eating there - it didn't look kid friendly.

We like the Italian at Epcot, you can watch them make the pasta while you wait for a table.

My favourite place to eat in Epcot is the Garden Grill.

The food is good, with a good choice of meat and veg eat as much as you like, it is quite laid back, and it slowly rotates around the ride living wih the land. Not overly expensive, especially as it is a character dining, that is not known all that well. As I have always been able to book on the day we arrive in the park.

Don't be put off by the menu in Germany. We love it. As Newhomebuyer says, it is very varied and you can sit as long as you like. They certainly didn't rush us when we were last there at Christmas. It is a very relaxed experience and great food. The shows are fun too.

we have checked out the garden grill on our last trip and it was just too loud [msnsad] we're not looking for a show or buffet so germany is definately out of the question, i fear there will be just too much going on

looking for a quiet (inside a/c) table service restaurant where we can all take a breather

mexico sounds like a maybe, can you remember what the restaurant was called?

    San Angel Inn in Mexico

Have you thought about leaving Epcot at International Gateway and having some quiet time of the Boardwalk. The Big River Grill opens at lunch. You can catch the boat from Epcot to the Boardwalk and just have some down time.
