Thread: so just how bad is June traffic?

so just how bad is June traffic?

We are planning my first June trip to Disney and looking at a villa in the Westridge community, which looks about 15-20 min to the gates.
When I was a kid, I always went with the parents in the winter time and never paid attention to such paltry details as traffic. Then I went back a few years ago with my son, flew in and stayed at a Disney resort. So I've never actually taken on Disney traffic by myself, and never in June. Can I do this or do I want to pay a taxi $30 each way to drop me at the park gate every day? Thanks!

I don't see Disney traffic at any time of year being a problem compared to driving in the UK, there are numerouse ways of entering the parks such as 429 or Sherberth Road.

Don't forget you are on holiday and hopefully, not in too much of a rush.
    Regards, Mark

Driving is so easy in Florida. Of course it gets busier at certain times of day, but the roads are wide with lots of lanes. I would get a car as you will have so much more freedom.

The traffic should not be a big problem. Even on an exceptionally busy day at Disney, they seem to have the traffic organised and we have never experienced any difficulties at any time of the year. I would definitely take your rental car so you can please yourselves what time you have had enough.

    Enjoy.

We have been several times, in September, June and at Easter. Whilst the traffic was busier at Easter there were no queues that we experienced when driving in. If anything would say normal "rush hour" traffic. Having a hire car gives you the freedom to hop around between parks, go back to your villa for a swim and then go back again at night. With taxis you would be tied to thinking oh no another taxi fare to pay out.

Also Disney are experts at getting the car parks very organised, far better than Universal.

My experience of the traffic is that as long as you are up early enough there shouldn't be a problem, spleep in a bit late and the 192 can be very busy but is avoidable using the sherberth road route.

Question though, coming from the 27, is using the 429 a better option than waiting until sherberth road?

That depends on which park you are visiting. For AK, then Sherberth Road is best. (using Black Lake first)
