Day 4
Today we promised the girls some water fun, as the pool was out of action we decided on trying one of the Disney water parks. Entrance was included in the cost of our premium annual passes and the weather was fine so we had breakfast in the villa and then set off. We got to Typhoon Lagoon just after opening at about 10am. Although this is our 10th trip we have never done the Disney water parks for one reason or another so this was a first for us. We were surprised to see few cars in the car park and it appeared quite quiet. We had a photo on entry and were handed different photo passes on wristbands so photos can be taken in the water. The kids also had one each so that the photographers know that they have our permission to take pictures of them.
We found our way to the changing rooms and hired towels for $1 each and a large locker for $12 with a $5 return when we handed back the key. All togged up we set about finding a place to sit. I thought a good place would be the toddler area – ketchakidee creek although on reflection it would have been better to sit on the main beach by the wave pool as this is where Neil and the girls spent most of their time. We set up camp and Neil went off with the girls to investigate. Mother in law set about frying herself to crisp and I saw to Oren and put his UV suit and cream on. That done I wandered off in search of food as I was hungry I bought a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and fries for $7.95, we also invested in a refillable mug for $10.95 with unlimited refills for that day, this was a good move! The sandwich was really good and we had cold drinks whenever we wanted.
Neil and the girls did most of the water slides early on which is a good idea as there were no lines unlike later in the day. They also won another small magic dream and were handed Year of a million dreams mickey ears hats as they came off one of the water slides :-) Oren had his bottle and then went to sleep so I left him with mother in law and went on the lazy river with Neil and the girls. This was a good laugh and they have single rings and some doubles. After that they dragged me into the wave pool which Sydney absolutely loved and I hated (I hate my head going under water) Libby also found it too strong for her but liked staying in the shallow end so I stayed with her and Neil and Sydney swam right out. I called Neil back to go and do something else as I was a bit bored in the shallows but unfortunately Libby decided to run off as wave hit and this threw her to the floor grazing her ankles, knees and legs :-( This is so typical of Libby and we are no strangers to Disney first aid rooms! So after a quick inspection a lifeguard directed us to first aid and she came away with no less than 6 plasters. They must see this all day long as another little girl came in with exactly the same injuries the bottom of the wave pool is incredibly rough but as the first aider explained if it was slippy they would be dealing with head injuries instead. Top marks for the treatment room though, the lady was really nice with her.
After this we returned to camp as Libby was cold and had to let her plasters dry off. Sydney dragged Neil off round the park to do the bigger rides, they did crush n gusher twice and Neil was being run ragged up and down all the steps trying to keep up!
When Oren woke I took him into ketchikiddee creek but he was less than impressed and I managed to get 1 picture of me and him on the photopass before I called it a day. We packed up our stuff, got changed and headed home about 3pm.
Tonight we left all the children with mother in law and had a romantical evening outThey were exhausted and needed an early night so it was a good opportunity to visit a more adult restaurant, Neils mum is also a plain eater so we plumbed for D'Antonios in Celebration as we love it here but knew she wouldn't find much even though it is the most gorgeous Italian food.
It was really busy but we were able to get a table after about 30 mins. We had a lovely spot outside overlook
