We used United via Washington for 10 years when we used to have a home in Tampa. There was often only a small amount of time between connections at Washington but we never once missed the next flight. They would not book you onto the flight if there was a huge chance of you missing it. I would book whilst the price is reasonable.

Definitely. A lot of the people I've seen when flying through Miami look to me like they belong behind bars.[msnwink]

We flew UA LHR - IAD and onto MCO. If you are booked through on the same airline, and the airline is prepared to sell you the flights with a short connection flight they must expect you to be able to do it. Ask their advice on what you would do if you missed a connection and check with them that they have a later flight for you to travel on if you are unable to clear in time. When you arrive and are waiting for your luggage make the airline ground staff aware that you are connecting.

Personally I think that's a tight connection at Washinton but if it is a through fare they must think its achieveable.

We have used this route a few times in the past. Christmas Eve 2004 we had nearly 2 hours between landing in Washington and leaving for Orlando. Our flight to Orlando was meant to leave at 6pm and we did not get out of immigration till 6.15pm. We made our way to the departure gate convinced that we had missed our flight only to find it still boarding. When we got on there was only 8 other people on board. They held the plane for over an hour to make sure everyone was on it.

United are by far the best airline we have used so get it booked and don't worry about it

United will also put you on a flight with any other airline(AA, Delta US etc) should you miss the flight.

That might have something to do with the 6 pm departure which may well have been the last of the day. I've found that they will be more likely to wait for connecting passengers in that situation because they would have to put them up in hotels for the night. It's cheaper for the airline to hold the flight than do that.

We have flown indirect many times with different airlines and have never missed a connection. I like the fact that when you arrive at MCO you do not have to go through customs as you are on a domestic flight. I would definitely book the flight before the price increases.
