Help needed to insert avatar please

Hi
I know this has been asked many times before and I have read previous posts.
How do i upload an avatar?
I have copied and pasted a URL link clicked enter, i then get a message to say profile updated, but my avatar does not appear.
I have been using a site called iconator, is there a better site?
Also is it possible to upload a picture direct from my PC ?

You need to put a link to a .JPG file in the avatar box when editing your profile. The one you have at the moment is something else (an IFRAME for those technically minded) and will not work.

It's best to upload the free avatar to here and link to it there (see previous posts in this section on how to do this) as other sites often don't like you linking to the file on their site as it uses their bandwidth for no benefit to them.

Well I did it ...............eventually
the easiest way for me, was to right click on the chosen avatar or picture, click properties, copy and paste the URL link into the Avatar link field on my profile.
