    coeliac/celiac/gluten free eating in Orlando

We are visiting Orlando for 3 weeks in July/August. My 16 year old daughter has coeliac disease - and can't eat gluten ( no wheat, rye or barley).

We would like advice on any restaurants that can provide gluten free food with minimum fuss and maximum choice.

Any advice, especially for breakfasts would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum Jill.

If you put 'coeliac' into the Search section on the top of each forum page, you'll find loads of info which should be of help to you and your daughter.

Every booked meal we have had at Disney has been fab. They have provided gluten free versions of the 'normal' foods. the chefs have normally come to talk to us about what she would like. At the character breakfast they made gf pancakes but mickey ears ones as opposed to just round ones. Most of the restaurants outside of Disney were ok once we had explained that coeliac meant she couldn't have oats, wheat, barly or rye. We were told that they use more potato starch than wheat starch. We didn't appear to have any mistakes! Busch Gardens was the worst place from what I can remember. You can also buy some gf foods in the supermarkets but not all and it was a lot harder to find than here. But that was over 2 years ago so I am hoping that side of things has got better. Hope this helps
