We do the same, Katy's Grandad. We prefer to book a taxi so we know exactly when it will arrive, and it also means you haven't got to visit all the other terminals first! [msnwink] As you say, with more than 2 people it is no more expensive and much more direct. The hotel will normally give you an idea of how much the taxi will be and we have never been overcharged.

The best one for Manchester airport is the Radisson - it's connected to the terminal so it's a leisurely stroll to check in. It quickly gets very unleisurely once you arrive at Virgin check in, but that's another story.

I have booked the travelodge for august 1st - for only £29 per room - excellent value - family rooms available - dont mind paying the taxi from there.....1 mile!!!and it has a canny little bar and food lounge too!!! Cant be robbed at that price!!!!
