It is vital that owners have a signed booking form. Part of the booking form is the terms and conditions of the rental, by signing the booking form you are agreeing with the terms and conditions. The terms and conditions cover both the owner and the guests.
The booking form also lets the owner know the names of each person who will be occupying their home, which is very important for safety reasons and for licensing laws. I know that guests are spending their hard earned money to stay in a home but the owner is trusting their guests with £1/4 miilion and upwards of their investment.

It is best to have a booking form and terms and conditions as this is your contract/agreement with the owners and can prevent any misunderstanding at a later date.
thanks karen for your help its a lot clearer now [msnsmile]
i have already payed a sum of money in a deposit to rent a villa but the owner has stopped replying to my emails and has'nt phoned
You are very welcome Graham.
If you have any concerns about renting a villa online for the first time you cannot go wrong if you make your enquiry through the links at the top, all of the villas are regularly verified.
If you have any questions then the owner who you book with will be only to happy to help, or ask right here on the forum.[msnsmile]

Sorry Graham, I was posting at the same time as you. Welcome to the forum by the way.
Did you book the villa through one of the above sites? If you did and are a little concerned you could perhaps contact John or Roger who may be able to help. Maybe the owner is away at the moment.

the villa is featured on this website however they posted straight to my email inbox as i showed interest in all 3 bed villas and you are right i am maybe panicking over nothing as the owner is probably in orlando right now lucky so and so,s lol.
Just a thought Graham, does the villa that you booked have internet access as if the owner is in Florida they should be still able to receive your emails. Of course that doesnt help if they are elsewhere.

Hi Graham
Welcome to the forums. How long ago did you pay your deposit? If it is only a few days and you paid by cheque then they would probably wait until it cleared before sending a confirmation of your booking.
As the others have said many owners do go over to their villas at this time of year to check them all over whilst it is a little quieter, or take advantage of flights if they can and go elsewhere and have a "real" holiday.
