    upgrade with virgin

    Hi All,

Wondering if any one can tell me what is a rough estimate in price of upgrading to PE when checking in at airport, assuming there are seats available.
Don't want to ask then be shocked at £400 but if its around £150 then we would be willing.

It's around the £219 mark one way from Manchester.

We recently paid £249 each to upgrade to PE on the way back to Gatwick from MCO. It was worth every penny as we'd just sold our villa[msncry] and needed cheering up.

It was advertised as £250 from Heathrow - Miami Per person. We paid around this online when we bought the ticket. For the new seats on the Miami route I would say worth every penny, return leg we had was (in my view) not worth the upgrade.

It will also depend on when you are going as it tends to be very popular at peak times.

If you do it at the airport the price can differ. UK to US is slight less than the other way around we found around - £210 out and £250 return. Sometimes it can be cheaper upgrading online, particularly if it is part of their special offers.

I'm surprised by that because you have to pay £40 additional departure tax to the UK government. I'd have assumed it would be the other way around.

I simply cannot believe those prices for PE!

For Upper Class it would be OK but PE?
