Cigarette Lighters

I am thinking of taking my ipod (playable in the car) as well as a sat nav.
Both of these use the in car cigarette lighter thingy-do any of the hire cars have 2 of these- i vaguely recall seeing 2 in a car in the past???????

I have not seen two in any the 4x4's I have hired.

The more recent vehicles we've rented (from Dollar) have had a cigarette lighter socket (no lighter) and also a separate socket.

One of the 4x4 that we hired had three, two outlets in the front and a third at the back of the centre console for the back seats.

You can buy an outlet adapter here in the UK. It plugs into a single outlet socket on the car and has two outlets on the part facing you. If your worried your car will only have one then this would ensure you have no problems and they sell for under £15.

Chyrsler 300 last year had one in the dash and one in the storage box between the front seats

lucky for us as the one in the dash was broke !!

You can get an adaptor from Maplins which will convert one socket into 4

we have this at home for kids dvd players and tomtom
