Hi Carolyne,
Our home is on High Grove, we think it is a great location which is why we bought there. It is around 6 miles to the west of Disney so the closest park is the Animal Kingdom which usually takes us around 10 minutes to drive to depending on the traffic.
It's a small gated development of around 160 homes, the majority of which are short term rental although there are now a few residents as well. All the homes are built in a Mediterranean style with red tiles on their roofs. We love the look of the development as well as the amount of space around the homes.
There is a clubhouse which is open daily from 8am-8pm with a small gym, a games room, computers with internet access, free coffee all day and regular special events throughout the year. There is also a large community pool with a large heated spa and a massive pool deck along with showers and lockers.
There are plenty of supermarkets close by the closest being a 24hr super wal mart which is about 2 minutes drive north on US27 at Caggan Crossings, there is also a Winne Dixie a little further north on the US27 and a Publix about a mile away on H192.
There are a few restaurants/ fast food places in front of Wal mart including a Chilli's restaurant, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC and Long John Silvers. Across the 27 at Caggan Crossings centre there is also a Chinese restaurant, a pizza place, a Sherlock's English tea shop, a Quiznos sub's and a newly opened Gators Dockside bar. I believe there is also an Indian restaurant planned although it hadn't opened when we were there in November. We have ordered take away from the Chinese and it arrived quickly and was good.
We love the development as it is convenient for all the parks but really quiet and peaceful for days spent by the pool
