Is it feasible to go to new york (by plane) for a day or two from Orlando, if yes does the US have any budget type airlines we could try?

    Many thanks in advance.

Try 'Jetblue' for internal flights, New York is 2 1/2 hrs flight from Orlando.

We just made a 2 night trip from Orlando to New York. We flew with American Airlines, the service was very good. Approx 2 1/2 hours flight time. We arrived in NY at 10.30 am. We got to the hotel too early to get into our room but we checked in and left our cases in the luggage room. By 1pm we were eating lunch in a lovely restauranbt near Times Square. We spent the afternoon and the next day sightseeing. We left the hotel the next day and were back at the villa at about 4pm.

It was really worth doing and the flights were a great price.

Jet Blue as mentioned before. We have used Continental Airlines on our way to Orlando before, Continetal seem to have a very large presence at Newark NY Airport. May be worth checking these out also

We flew into La Guardia - very quick time into the centre probably about 20 minutes to our hotel!

If you don't know New York, I'd suggest La Guardia on the basis that it's the nearest to Manhattan so it'll be the cheapest cab fare.

JFK has link to the subway but if you aren't that familiar with that I wouldn't recommend it - although it's probably the most 'New York' thing to do.

Newark has a rail link but you might find that you'll need a cab to your hotel in Manhattan from the terminus anyway.

I always arrange for a car (referred to as a 'limo') to collect me from the airport. If there's more than 1 of you, it's about the same as a cab. DM me if you need recommendations.

Try Spirit airways they often have offers or Delta Vacations may also have some deals.

We have flown to New York with Jet Blue and Spirit. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Spirit was to La Guardia and Jet Blue was to JFK. It's certainly worth doing in our opinion. Also we have just booked flights for Christmas with American Airlines - Stansted - JFK - Orlando so presumbably AA would also be an option.
