    Baby mlk on the flight

    Hi all

My brother is travelling over to Florida in May with my beautiful 5 month old neice. I was wondering what is the current thinking on baby milk? Can they take the prepacked milk or would the flight staff allow them to make fresh with booled water and powder on the flight?

    Your thoughts appreciated

when my daughter came over in November they were allowed to take the babies milk already made up but you do have to be prepared to taste it, they flew with Virgin.

We took some powder and some cartons already mixed together BUT we had to open up 1 cartoon and taste is not nice but we did take spare just in case this happened so our baby just got 1 extra milk that day as once a carton is open you have to use it within 1 hour. Waiting for hot water onthe place was a joke the first time it was too hot then after that we waited near to an hour!! We had to remind the crew to give us back the water as the baby was hungry her routine got messed up a bit on the plane.

As we had a group last time we split the milk up between us so we never ran short.

We have taken some bottles already made up. They made me taste some of them at the security [xx(]

We had the remainder in small sachets of powder and made them up with boiled water 30 mins prior to Dillon needing feeding. They were ok with this, although when it was meal service this proved hard and we had to wait.

For the flight I would say 3 bottles should be enough along with their baby food.

    hiya,

we flew to orlando from manchester with virgin last october (2007), when our daughter was 4 months old. we took disposable sterile bottles & powder. the cabin crew were happy to heat bottles up - although they came back a little bit too hot most of the time!

overall,i thought it wasnt too bad doing that way.

i did try to buy ready made cartons from boots airside but they'd sold out, so i wouldnt rely on them.
