    Kraken

Does anyone disagree that this is the best ride in the world?

My two sons went on the 'Sling Shot' ride (twice!!!) at 'Old Town'.
Mum said absolutely no no no, you can't go on.
    Dad said yes.

    OH MY GOD!

I felt sick watching them. My mother in law burst into tears[msncry] she was so frightened for them!

The boys............They loved it! The best ride ever! Wicked!
Of course even better that mum and nana were shaking from head to toe[msneek]

I agree it's the best one I have been on. I think as an overall package MGMs Tower of Terror runs it close (albeit a totally different ride) but as a pure thrill ride I was amazed.

    Kraken surprised me...

    Current #1 fave for me

A recent 'poll' among some 20+ of our friends who have been recently to Orlando and in age groups between 13 and 68 revealed that the Kraken got the #1 vote unanimously. Second choices varied between the Incredible Hulk, Dr Doom's Fearfall, Duelling Dragons & the Summit Plummet.

The Kraken is a very good ride, although its track layout is very similary to Montu in Busch Gardens.

We prefer The Hulk and Duelling Dragons in IOA.

Speaking of which, I cant believe that Dr Doom's Fearfall figures in anyone's best ride list.

Apart from giving you a nice view of IOA and the Universal area, it does very little for either of us.....but then, each to their own I suppose.

I agree that the Fearfall is not that scary, but I was mentioning what others said. I agree that the 'Ice' ride in DD comes close to the Kraken in the White Knuckle factor, but 'Fire' was less scary though a bit faster. I was slightly disappointed with the Hulk; paradoxically, the much lauded initial acceleration out of the tunnel spoilt the Hulk for me. The initial adrenaline surge was too quick so that the rest of the ride felt like a bit of an anti-climax. Yes, the Kracken has some similarities with the Montu, but sitting up front was far scarier, esp its proximity to the ground.

    Guys/Girls,
'Dragged' my mum (who is 56) on most of the rides when we went in March/April, she absolutely loved Kraken - indeed she 'dragged' me back on straight away for another go!!! We then did IOA the next week and she described both Hulk and DD as TAME!!! Having said that she did wimp out on Kumba at BG as she 'didn't like the look of that!!" [msnscared][msnscared][msnscared]
