Your best bet is to look at AVForums where all pros and cons are discussed in fine detail.
Latest test in one of the mags I get had the Panasonic HDC-SD100 come out in top place. A good UK price would be around £500 if your looking at buying here or inthe U.S.
If this is to higher price then they recommended the Sanyo Xacti VPC HD1000 whic was priced around £275.

i got a good deal on a sony full hd camcorder ( if you what hd )and very easy to use plus it a 10mp still picture camera and saves carrying the 2,Sony HDR-SR11 model
