Booked with Dollar - additional Question asked

    Hi,

We have booked an intermediate car with Dollar, and have just noticed one of the options that they can give us is a PT Cruiser and it has a note about 1 medium case and 1 small case.

This will not be big enough for the 2 adults, 2 infants, 3 suitcases and 1 double buggy we need to shift from the air port to the villa.

Will we be given a choice or have a made a mistake booking that level of car?

If a mistake can I upgrade?

You are right a PT Cruiser does not have a large luggage capacity especially with a buggy.

Have you asked if there is a buggy at the place you are renting ? then you will not need to take a buggy.

Roger I expect will advise on car changes.

The last couple of trips we have been given a Chrysler Sebring when booking I$ cars. You could put a note on your reservation that you don not want a Cruiser as with 2 infant car seats and 2 adults you are going to be severely limited on luggage space.

Incidentally in case you weren't aware it's best to take your own car seats as then you know they are safe and fit your children and will have them to use both ways from the airport in UK.

Just tell them at the desk you don't want a Cruiser and they will give you something else.

It's very rare to get a PT Cruiser as the Intermediate, but we do mention is as a possibility on our site *just in case* you are allocated one.

    Roger,

Do you think it would be better for us to upgrade to the next sise up? The cost diffrence was not that big? Or will we be able to ask at the desk for something else that we can fit into?

    Hello,
if you need a bigger car upgrade through uscarhire. Upgrading at the desk will cost you quite a lot more.

As Martin says, it's definately better to upgrade / book a larger car before you go. The renal company will use an upgrade request on arrival as a good reason to charge a small fortune!

In January I took advantage of the free upgrade with Budget and was pleased with my Impala. After 10 days I picked up an 8 seater luxury SUV with Budget which was ok but a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the interior, but it suited our needs. My next vehicle 14 days later was an intermediate with Dollar but was offered the Cruiser.. I asked for an alternative but they did not have one of this class. I eventually upgraded at the desk, which I hate doing, and to top it all had to go to luxury class as there was no other classes available. She did show me her computer screen to demonstrate that this indeed was the case. A lesson learnt for me, I won't be booking an intermediate with Dollar in the future.. I really did not know that the cruiser was part of dollars Intermediate package.
