    River Country

    Hi,
have noticed that there has been no mention of River Country in any of disneys stuff this year.
Does anybody know what has happened to it, is it still open or has it closed[?]
It's the one water park we have'nt been to!

It's been shut for quite a while now and last I heard Disney were not planning on re-opening it which is a shame as I loved it when I used to go as a teenager.

We went in 1997.Our first trip ever to Olando. It must have closed later that year.

I'll never forget the time one of the life guards had to put me out of the water.[:I]

    Brings back good memories

It waa always the one water park people had not yet been to which I guess is why it closed! I remember that swingy thing which used to dump you in the lake. Now that was scary! The last time we were over there was I guess two or three years back and it said shut for refurb, I guess it just never re-opened,

[We went to River Country August 2000. Shame it seems to have closed as we liked it. It was smaller than the other 2 and nowhere near as busy. I too think that Disney must be doing something with it.

We went to River Country on our first ever visit to Orlando in 1996, didn't like it as much as Blizzard Beach, the lake was freezing, mind you we did go in December so that would probably explain it![msnwink]

river country is still closed, but strangely the signs are still up for it as you drive about. last year we thought they had turned it into the new bonnet creek resort but cheked this time and there are still signs showing ahead after you pass the bc turning.
i expect that mouse has something up its sleeve, bearing in mind they do need 3 water parks.
john , time to get lobbying the tourist board again!!.[8D]
