You don't pay for the service if you have booked your holiday through Virgin holidays (not sure if it works if you book a flydrive?) or if you are Gold Flying Club members, for everyone else it was $5 and has just been increased to $10 per person.

Still cheap at the price. Rather than drag 8 cases, 4 flight bags, 2 buggies, 2 kids from car drop off at MCO across the road, up the lift, through all the ques of people waiting to check in at other desks. It becomes a leisurely stroll with no worries, but as Ive said, Ive not had to pay for the priviledge, "yet"[msnwink] Still got some vouchers at home yet to use. [msnsmile2]

The silver flying club card lets you use the PE check in so on the rare ocassion I am not using PE I can at least use the PE system.

I never bother checking in on line as I found the same experience as Peter with the bag drop queue at Man, it works for some though, I think it depends on the time of year you are travelling and when you get to the check in desk.

I did notice in December they were enticing you to check in online with 250 miles so must be something going on behind the scenes with it.

we did the online checkin for our last trip and gained the extra 250 miles. Process was okay, but a wee bit time consuming. Plus when you get to the printing your boarding card stage it is not evident how many of the boarding cards from the application that opens you will print each time (ie all in the party or just the one you are viewing) - almost printed 50 pages instead of 10!
