Paula well done on maintaining your loss to date[clap][clap][clap]

Brenda i can only echo what Paula says go to class even if just for the weigh in, it will help keep you on plan, i hope you don't mind me saying but i am concerned as your food diaries are very sparse Brenda, do you only have one proper meal a day? also do you know that if oats are a healthy B you must have the scan bran or hi fibre cracker? listed with it or else the oats become counted as syns as there is not enough fibre to be counted as a B choice[msneek]

good luck for weighing in tomorrow Brenda and Pamela and anyone else weighing in [clap]

i've had a good red day today for a change

usual brekkie of toast n jam 3 syns
    banana
    beef broth
chicken breast topped with bacon and roasted veggies (peppers, tomatoes, red onion and courgette)
fresh fruit salad melon, kiwi, pear and apple
    horlicks extra light 2syns

    total syns 5 [angel]

Brenda GO FOR A WEIGH IN! Even if you don't stay to class just have the weigh in[msnsmile2]

I totally agree with Marie, you need to eat more 'real' foods and not just salads they are not great for someone wanting to lose weigh long term as you add dressings and coleslaw which are very heavy on fats and cals and low on sastaining you and increasing your fat burning capability[msnwink]

    green day for me yesterday...

    banana and actimel
    skinny lattes HEA's
2 egg omelette made with fry light
    grapes
mexican beans with lettuce, cheese HEB, chicken HEB, salsa and rice [msntongue]
    banana
    lots of water[angel]
    some choccie 6 syns
    museli ryvita 6 syns
    total syns 13.5

Just checking in on the latest news as been so busy with 'eating functions'.

I was pleased when I got home from this past weekend that I had stayed the same but I tried to be good. I was just about to order bread and butter pudding, and the person next to me, who has to attend even more functions than we do, said she was ordering fruit salad as it was so easy to order the desert you liked most, so she never orders it and sticks with fruit salad. I felt so guilty about the b and b pud. that I changed my mind and had the fruit - no cream!![clap][clap] and stuck to that all weekend. Off to another Conference in Birmingham at the Hilton - all food included so will have to watch out. My intentions are good...[msneek]

Hope you are feeling better Marie and Julie. You both give us the inspiration we need so hopefully we can repay you with our shared words.

Pamela, well done and George. Good for you girl.[clap]

I also used to shop in Evans and hopefully will not be returning. It is really difficult to see yourself as any different, and the fat image still appears in the mirror, although the clothes are 2/3 sizes smaller dependant on manufacturer of course.

Hope to check in next week and good luck folks with your plan.

Brenda, take Julie and Maries advice and go and weigh in at least. You have taken the first step by attending on your own. Sometimes the classes do get boring - and we have a great SW leader - but I still get bored on occasions. You pick up so many other meal plan options also from the members. Go, go, go.

Well ladies, I think you have convinced me that I should go this evening. I may just go for the weigh-in and see how I get on, unless there is another leader then may stay.

I hadn't realised about the scan bran or high fibre cracker - I thought I was helping even more by omitting it. I have some multigrain ryvitas in the cupboard - would these do? I have also not been using the semi-skimmed milk allowance as I mix it with water to make the porridge - is it OK to do this?

The coleslaw is about a dessert spoonful and the dressing is the Kraft French Light with a trace of fat. I have tried the reduced fat coleslaw but the sauce tastes like glue so I buy the finest range as this is my treat. Just had a look at the fat content and it is a whopping 19.4g per 100g - OMG [msnoo] I think I will have to give it a miss next time.

I have been having only one meal a day for a little while as again, I thought I was being really good and this would increase the weight loss. Sometimes at midday, I will have some fruit, perhaps with a yogurt but find it difficult to fix a meal if I am working and out and about. I try and make up with a huge salad for an evening meal. I tried a baked potato with the baked beans a couple of days ago but felt so bloated afterwards and still had the effect the next day.

Will let you all know how I got on after my first 'proper' of sorts week.

Brenda in all honesty I am actually eating more now than I was before joining SW. I would always skip dinner then on my way home from work I'd get a little shopping in and a bar of chocolate, crisps or maybe even a cake[:O]
I always had breakfast anyway (feel faint by 10am without it), except now I have porridge instead of rice krispies and a couple of rounds of buttered toast. For dinner I do only have something light (as I'm in work) then wait and have my tea.

    Good luck for tonight.

    Food diary for today Red
    Porridge HE B
    Milk 2 x HE A
Chicken and Salad Sandwich for dinner HE B for bread
    Beef Stir Fry for tea.
Plenty of fruit through the day and saving melon and yogurt till a little later.
2 syns for mayo and maybe a little 2 finger kitkat with a coffee watching The Bill.[msnwink]

Brenda eating more of the 'right' stuff or 'real' foods as we call them is key to long term weight management, eating less is is a waste of time...........

At Slimming World, DIET is a four letter word! And if you’ve had your fill of these “off and on eating regimes”, if you’re fed up of going to bed early because you’re hungry - and if you never want to think ‘dare I eat that’ ever again - you’ve come to the right place!

    Forget calorie counting
    Forget deprivation and hunger
Forget the strict rules and regulations of past diets
Forget completely any previous dieting dos and don'ts - they'll only get in your way.
Forget diet pills that interfere with your body and your mind’s natural, healthy functions.
Embrace completely the freedom, flexibility and generosity of Food Optimising!

The stroke of genius behind Food Optimising lies in its concept of Free Food – healthy, satisfying foods that can be enjoyed in any amount whenever you’re hungry – the only
imit is your appetite. They’re called Free Foods because they’re unlimited – no obsessive counting or tedious weighing; no feelings of hunger and deprivation!

And because Free Foods are ordinary, wholesome, everyday foods, the whole family can enjoy them. Take care of your family's health as well as your own; encourage them too to fill up on hunger-busting, health-giving, energy-providing Free Food - everyone will reap the benefits.

Good luck with weigh in Brenda!!!

P.S If you want coleslaw why not make your own using extra light mayo[msnwink]

Just back from class and lost 1.5lbs so I now have my first stone award and am now 2.51bs lighter than when I stopped going last May. (George lost 2.5lbs)

We had great fun in class tonight as George volunteered last week to cook something for Easter it was Hot Cross Buns. He wasn't impressed with that as he isn't a cake cook! Anyway he cooked them today followed the recipe exactly and they were more like rock cakes although they tasted ok. Aonther lady had to make them also and I have to say that even though hers looked better his tasted better. We did have a few laughs about them though.

I have been to many different slimming clubs over the years and quite a few different SW groups but I think the group of ladies and the group leader (once I got used to her) is the best I have ever tried. As Sandra says even if the group is good and the consultant is also it can still get boring but it really does help to go every week and even more to stay to class Brenda. Hope you managed to go.

Paula well done for maintaining I'm sure if you stick at it you will have a good loss next week

Sandra it's good to hear from you and hope you are managing to stay positive.

Fiona in the words of Delia "Where are you" (You have to be a Norwich City fan to understand).

I posted something the other night but it seems to have disappeared so don't know what happened, anyway I asked if anybody knows how many sins a chinese king prawn curry and boiled rice would be? Julie ?

    Well done Pamela and George[clap][clap][clap]

What is the syn value of the Hot Cross Bun and would you mind sharing the recipe, I feel like I'm missing out this year because I haven't bought any yet.
