Good luck tomorrow Julie, fingers crossed they will be able to sort you out.

Looking forward to meeting up with Janny in Florida, we've both had alot going on recently and despite living only about 1˝hrs away from each other here not managed a get-together for a while.

Had a good day today until DH and ED decided they had to have chocolate tonight[}], so of course I kept them company! Still Janny is quite right no point in worrying about what we have eaten in the past fortnight, onwards and upwards for the rest of the year. I am planning my next op for March (have to come off the Tamoxifen 6 weeks before so does take some planning), so I need to keep on track. Am going back to SW when I get back from my hols.

Found some unused veggies in the bottom of the fridge tonight, so am making a huge veggie soup tomorrow - sounds as if we will need something warm and nourishing if the weather forecasts are correct[msneek]. Must be out with the hounds early before the snow sets in.

Welcome to the newbies. I haven't posted for a while as we have been very busy out here in Florida. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous until last night and a cold front has come over and it's freezing going down to 28 f tonight! It's really funny though hearing them talk about it on tv.

Good luck with your appointment today Julie hope you get good news on the date of your op.

Food wise I haven't over eaten whilst here so hoping to have stayed the same back to SW as soon as I return next week,

Happy New Year to you all and lets hope for some great weight losses this year[msnsmile2]

Haven't posted in ages - sorry [msnembarrased]

My pc at home is poorly [msnsad] and this is my first day back at work after the hols [msncry]

I'm afraid I have been very naughty and eaten far too many treats - and I can certainly tell - my clothes are tight and I feel a bit yuk [sick]
No excercise either for one reason or another....

Julie - hope all goes well for you today and also hope you are back to normal after being sick over Christmas [grouphug]

I may be a few days late but I'd like to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2008 [cheers]

Happy New Year to you Julie, and lets hope the scales are not as bad as you think.

I have just weighed in and am very happy with only 1/2lb gain in the 2 weeks over Xmas. I feel I have got away lightly.

Only a few more days before San Diego and Florida so want to be good!

Hi everyone!

Didn't get to weigh in yesterday as I had to sort out the insurance after our shed was broken into! Weighed at home so feeling ok!

Had a good day yesterday and so far today is good too! Eating lots of fruit, melon satsumas etc. Only one more weigh in before my holiday so hoping to lose the weight I put on over Xmas. I think part of it was inactivity!! Back to work now so hoping for a good loss next week!

Have a good week everyone.

It's good news that you don't have to wait long Julie, and once it is over, think of all the things you will be able to do that may have been difficult before.

Haven't you done well Sandra[clap][clap] I hope there weren't too many tempting moments and no doubt your forthcoming trips helped to overcome any weak moments.[msnwink]

Hubby and I succumbed to a weak moment today. We went for a walk to the water meadows in Salisbury, but finished with a tea in one of our favourite teashops - Snells - who sell the most gorgeous cakes. I had a carrot cake with fresh cream topping and hubby a banana and white chocolate cheesecake - oops! We probably cancelled out all the good work walking

you have learned a valuable first lesson Brenda, recognise your weeknesses and work around them

you have four choices
1. walk another route so the temptation isn't there
2. walk the same route and tell yourselves that cake is ok but only once a month or once a week if you share it
3. do without completely and feel deprived which is not good at all so don't even go there
4. find a healthier alternative to the cake that you will both still enjoy and build that into your healthy eating plan

personally i think that if you forbid treats then they become an obsession, you resist for so long and then once you cannot resist any longer you give up having seen a slice of "forbidden" cake as a failure when it's not, building any treat in is the best thing to do as it takes away the on and off a diet mentality and puts you in control
