[grouphug]Paula, sorry to hear you are still under the weather. I thought you were on the mend from your previous post. Take care of yourself.

Pleased to report a 1 lb loss. Happy with that as it was DH birthday at the weekend and was a little naughty[msnembarrased] Hopefully more next week!

I thought I was on the mend too but it seems my perscription is more of a preventer than a curer.[msnscared]

Feel a little stronger but calf mucscles still feel like jelly stapled to the back of my legs for some reason, hopefully going to weighin tomorrow evening but will not stay for Image Therapy this week.

    Thanks Frances and Julie.

Big [grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]s for you Paula hope you feel better really soon!

Marie sorry your hand is still causing such problems burns are so nasty - I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to have third degree burns all over - ouch!

Julie is the long term damage to your knee down to the amount of time you had to wait for the op?

    Hi Everyone

[grouphug] Julie after your fall - it must have been a bit of a shock for you [grouphug] Good news that you didn't do any further damage to your knee. I know whenever I have a slip or cobble over I always worry about my back.

[clap][clap] Ali & Frances - great losses - well done to you both[clap][clap]

Well yesterday went by in a bit of a blur. After going to bed shattered on Monday night I was then up and down all night looking after my eldest as he was sick with a bug. Had another 'red' day as there was still lots of meat left from the previous day

poached eggs on WM toast (HE B)
    banana & apple
baked salmon, lamb & steak with baby carrots & brocolli
mandarin & banana with Activia Natural Yogurt (1 syn)
    16g bag maltesers (4.5 syns)
total syns = 5.5 syns [angel]

Weigh day today and I stayed the same. Was hoping for a small loss as I have been so good but hopefully it will all show next week [msnsmile]

I will check in again later - have a good day all

    Bye for now

    Elaine

Good grief, only been off the postings for 2 days and the whole thread has irrupted into a 'caring for the sick'[msncry][msncry]

[grouphug][grouphug]for Pam, Mizzy, Julie, Paula and Frances, plus anyone else who needs a [grouphug].

Frances, well done on your loss, but I guess it is a lot of worry for you which you would rather have done without. Maybe something will come of Julie's advice. Let's hope so.

Julie, sorry about the long term damage you have - I am really not surprised as as soon as I saw my Consultant I was on crutches and operated on 4 days later. I could have waited for the op but his advice was that I could do myself long term damage if I walked on the knee. Hopefully an exercise bike will help you. My knee still isn't as good as it was before and it is now almost 5 months. I guess I will learn to live with it.

Pam, thank goodness you were not injured. I expect it did shake you up and make you nervous, but hope you are feeling happier.

Paula, hope you are improving. These bugs around this year are certainly killers. We have had so many staff off and not just for a couple of days either!

My scales are behaving themselves, so when I weigh tomorrow I am hoping for at least a couple of pounds off. It is always the way though, it is our 31 Club Business Meeting and 3 course lunch today, and then another 3 course dinner for my Rotary Club. I wish I did not have to go as I have been doing so well and strict with myself. I seem to have the problem of if I have paid for a 3 course meal, then I feel obliged to eat it! Deserts are my downfall so I am praying they are not any of my favourites. Weigh in tomorrow. Still expecting to have to revert to paying as I am over my goal allowance but hope to get back down sooner rather than later.

    Sandra

Hope you have a good weigh in tomorrow Sandra - and a lovely meal today!! (do the 2 go together in one sentence - oh well, enjoy!!!) [msnsmile]

Paula, sorry to hear you are still not well. I hope you begin to feel netter today [grouphug]

Hope you hand is a little less painful today Marie [grouphug]

Julie, sorry to hear about your knee - I hope the exercise bike helps. [grouphug]

I haven't been doing too well food wise. Didn't manage anything except a piece of naan bread Monday (why naan bread?????? - no idea!!)
Yesterday I only had a pasta'n'sauce for tea and then hubby bought me a small packet of malteesers to 'cheer me up'!!
Hoping that I will do better today but nothing so far - not even coffee, which is unheard of!! I am feeling a bit more positive though, which is a start! [msnsmile]

Hi all just popping in in between physio, dentist, school runs and a meeting[msnscared]

Thanks for your concerns about my knee[grouphug]

Apparently the long term damage has nothing to do with waiting for the op (although I do wish now I had gone private and had it done earlier) as the 2 meniscus tears I had repaired are OK but its the cartilage that covers the ends of long bones that has been damaged its a weight bearing injury due to years of being on my feet walking up and down a plane whilst flying for over 20 years and 9 years of running - apparently I was at more risk of this happening due to having over pronation (dropped arches in my feet) now they tell me! So quadricep strengthening it is the best exercise to support the knee hence the exercise bike for non weight bearing quadricep strengthening [msnsmile]

    Catch you all later!

Julieanne you don't have to keep your protein and carbs separate, here is a quick way to decide whether to go red or green..........

if you want unlimited meat fish or poultry but not so many potatoes, beans or pasta go red and just weigh out your carbs as Healthy Extras B's.............

on a red day you could then go on and snack on any of the protein as long as they are listed as free

if you would prefer to have unlimited pasta, pots or beans etc then go green and just weigh out your meat, fish or poultry and count them as Healthy Extra B's..........

on a green day you could then go on and snack on as much pasta, beans or potatoes etc as long as they are listed as 'free'

just remember to weigh and measure your HE's both B's and A's[msnwink]

P.S HEA's = milk and cheese HEB's in addition to the above also = cereals, bread, dried fruits etc

    [/quote]

Thanks Julie - I will try harder [msnwink] [msnwink]
Hope your knee improves quickly once you are "on your bike" [grouphug]
