i do try to be strict with the kids diet Julie but any new or sudden changes always causes chaos also we have others who "interfere" i say no to chocolate and i get over ruled and it still gets bought especially at christmas, birthdays and easter, the mil is the biggest culprit[msnmad]

i also feel guilty as they have a lot less than other children and if a bar of chocolate gives them pleasure i feel awful limiting it, it's like being torn in two i want what's best for them but i want them to be happy too[msncry] we just have to moderate it to a happy medium and find alternatives, the alternative is yogurt covered dried cranberries at the minute and organic raisins which they both love

    todays food diary - green

    toast n jam 1 slice 1 syn
    hifi bar healthy B
    pasta quiche & salad
    fruit salad
    jacket wedges with veggie curry
    banana

Mizzy I know what you mean it is hard, my FIL used to just give the children treats without checking with us so my DH had a firm word with him and it does not happen any more. Chocolate if given as a desert is the best time, my dentist always says if you want to let them have sweets make sure its just chocolate given after a meal and not in between and not to clean their teeth until 40 minutes after eating it. The best snack for in between meals for teeth and health is a banana and more acidic fruits should be given after meals too[msnwink]

    Good day for me too........

    banana and actimel 1.5 syns
    skinny lattes HE A's
    tomato coucous

    actimel 1.5 syns

    Porridge again today for breakfast
Pasta with muscapone and tomato sauce followed by greek honey yoghurt for dinner
Plenty of water and 3 cappuccinos

Couldn't face any lunch as cough and swollen glands have made swallowing difficult. Thanks for all the kind wishes, I am just hoping it clears by next Tuesday when we fly out to Florida.

I read in the media today that they Government is thinking of releasing the tammi flu vaccine for elderly and vulnerble people. The critical number of flu cases has been reached and GPs are overwhelmed plus the hospitals have started cancelling operations due to the high number of cases.

Glad to hear you took the plunge and weighed youself Julie[clap]

Welcome Erica, I am a newby too, having joined just after Christmas. We are over for 2 weeks from next Tuesday but then won't be in WWB until next Nov/Dec. I am sure we will catch up one day - our door is always open for a coffee/drink and chat.[msnsmile]

Well done Jill, 2lbs is a great achievement[clap]

Morning ladies, waking up at the crack of dawn here! Had a good flight out but for some reason still v tired. Ate at Hoolihans our first night, shared lettuce wraps and the shrooms and then had a caesar salad (or what I could eat of it!). Last night we ate out with friends at Mannys, DH and I shared coconut prawns, but I did succumb to one of their bread rolls with cinnamon butter.
then had a filet steak with garlic mash, and oh forgot their salad. Have decided that this is not how the rest of the holiday is going to be and today am on a stricter meal plan! Planning to have porridge and melon for breakfast, cold meat and salad for lunch and not sure about supper yet but am going food shopping today so buying lots of salad!

Lovely and warm here, just to make you jealous,my girls are! Although it did rain v heavily last night and when I woke up at 4.20am[msnsad] it was raining heavily again. No sign of the beast so far, apart from a pile of poop on the lawn behind the pool, no burrows anywhere. However, lots of sad looking plants after a severe frost last week, so DH has been busy with the clippers.

We are going to see Willie Nelson on Thursday night at the House of Blues and plan a day out either to go to St Augustine or to see the manatees, not decided yet. Meeting up with Janny on Saturday and out for a meal.

    Have a good day all.
    Fiona
