    Booking a sky cot

we are flying with Virgin at Easter and I want to try and pre book a sky cot for Oren who will be 6 months. I've just looked at the website and it says 'Please call our Contact Centre for availability and booking' there are 14 different numbers on their page - would I call the special assistance number do you think?
    cheers

Yes, you can also only request a sky cot - unfortunately not book it or have it guaranteed. I would definitely give them a call.

Heidi, just a word of warning (in a nice way) don't rely on Oren going in the skycot, I found that none of my 5 liked them at all and they really only seam to suit very small babies. When I was crew I also noticed that not many babies settled in them for long although they are a handy place to lay the baby when you need to eat etc.

Little tip - take some of your own baby bedding as babies often settle better if they have their own bedding that smells familiar to them and not the airline blankets that smell of Eau de Boeing!!!!

    Happy Flying!

We flew Mytravel and were not gauranteed the skycot until the day of travel. They have 2 per plane and these are at the front of the plane in PE. We arrived the day before and checked in to ensure we got those seats.

I am not sure of where they are in the Virgin planes, but I did see them years ago above the seats where the people were sitting.

I must say it was a godsend to have one and Dillon slept for a good 3 hours in it, just enough time for me to watch a film....

Thanks for the tips, as far as I am aware the cot will be in front of me with Virgin. You can only have one if you get bulk head seats as there is a flap on the wall especially for it. At least this is how it was 5 years ago when we flew with Libby who was then 4 months old. She slept pretty much the whole flight and was really good so I am hoping Oren will do the same as he will be just a little older. We did twilight check in that time but we can't do that this trip as there are so many more of us it adds too much extra expense to go down the night before. I also don't want to haul loads of extra baby stuff for an overnight stay BEFORE a 9 hour flight as it means I have the worry of carrying and storing extra milk. So it's a 5am coach from Bristol and fingers crossed we get one when we check in!

when our daughter was 4 months we took her to orlando and she got on the plane eat her food played for 1 hour and slept until we were about to land all in a sky cot. Now she is bigger (16mths) the fun begins. Maya is also very long and somehow managed to still fit into those sky cots now when we go she manages to sleep in the bouncing chair look a like thing when she is 2 we will have to buy her a seat and sit in different seats to the bulk head or the ones with the 2 across in the middle row though she does like to look out of the window
