Infants in parks where to go?

    Hello all,

We have just booked to go to Florida in Aug of next year. Now I think we could be mad as we are going with a 1 1/2 year old and what will be a 6 month old when we go. - Have 15 days out their in a villa, flights, villa and car hire are taken care of, so now we are looking at the things to do whist out.

We don’t want to fill the 2 weeks with parks but we would obviously like to see some things.

So I looked and searched but could not find the answer to my questions so here goes: -

Where would you go if you have 2 infants with you in Florida? None of them look like that are idea, - the 6-month-old won’t be a problem but 1 1/2 year old, where would you take her?

Any help would be much welcome, this is probably the only time we will be able to afford to go for a good few years to come!

    Many thanks

    John

I would take them everywhere, my two loved the whole place at all ages. I would maybe leve the Universal parks until they are older but all Disney parks, water parks and Sea world are a must.

    Hi John,
you will find Florida a fantastically family friendly place which is why we keep going back. We have been taking our girls since Libby was 4 months old and the facilities put the UK to shame. We now have another addition to the family so will also visiting in March with a 6 month old. Disney will be top of our hitlist as they really have things sorted for families with young children. There are baby stations in all the parks for feeding and changing, stroller rental and all the rides allow a baby swap system so mum and dad get to ride. All the restaurants will have high chairs, booster seats and a childrens menu although some of the things are not to our taste, american children seem to like apple sauce!!! As for stuff to do, although a lot of rides will be out for your littlies there are play parks and water play areas, character greetings and parades. A lot of the tamer rides especially in the magic kingdom will be fine for all the family particularly in fantasy land and mickeys toontown fair. Aside from Disney, Seaworld is great with all the animals and shows there are to see and Universal has Seuss Landings. I could go on forever there is so much to mention I guarentee Florida with small children is fantastic and you will be back.

The first time we took our eldest son to Orlando was when he was just 14 - 15 months old, he loved the magic kingdom, his little eyes would light up at the outdoor singing shows, we still have a video of him sat in his push-chair with his legs and arms going along with the music. The only thing that upset him a lttle bit was on some of the indoor shows, when the sound got a little loud. My little ones also enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon (if i remeber right) they just loved going round & round in the lazy river. At that age i would deffo choose magic kingdom, i also believe it should be free for your 2 children at their age.

We have been with babbies and found Florida the most family orientated place we've ever been. Within the parks usually squirrelled away somewhere there are little rides and activities geared up to tinies. Hopefully you will now be able to see one of my grandchildren "splashing" around-Don't forget the sun screen though!

the first time we took our daughter she was 4.5 mths old, then again when she was 12 months old.. She loved Sea World for all the shows and seeing the animals. The disney park we took her too was Animal Kingdom but we also went to Busch too, she loved the animals there and the adults had fun too.... Hope this helps

She is now 16 months old and we are just about to start planning our next trip

If you are very limited, I would do Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and Typhoon lagoon which has an amazing childrens area (Blizzard beach does too, but I can't really remember it)
Then Sea World is a must.
For cheaper options, there are petting farms as Paula has said, a day at Clearwater beach maybe and how about one of the state parks where they can play in the water

    Hello All
Many thanks to all for your advice, looks like a 2/3 day ticket to Disney, Animal Kingdom, and a spell at Epcot for me! then onto the water park, does anyone have a recommendation of Typhoon Lagoon over Blizzard Beach for our age group? Both look fantastic.

The Petting farm is on the list, as is a day at the beach.

It good to know we will be OK! If anyone else has any thoughts please do let us know.

    John
