COAST RESORTS / HOW FAR ??

Hi
we are staying at tuscan ridge and would like a few one day trips to the coast.Any tips on where to go ? and what journey time is ?
Am l right to assume keys are to far for day trip ?.Is fort laurderdale worth a visit

The Atlantic coast (Daytona, Cocoa, Cape Canaveral for the Kennedy Space Center, etc) are about an hour or so away and the Gulf Coast (Tampa for Busch Gardens) is around 1.5 hours or so away.

The Keys are much too far for a day trip from the Orlando area and are a day trip from Miami (about 5 or so hours from Orlando)!

Fort Lauderdale has some amazing homes along the seafront as well as some great restaurants and shops but I'd say it was an early morning departure and a late evening return to get it all into a day trip.

If you get chance Clearwater is really nice, proabably just over an hour and a half from Tuscan Ridge. We will be going across to Clearwater when we are over in May for a couple of nights - beautiful beach and some great seafood restaurants. Frenchy's on the beach early evening to watch the sunset is a great experience.
