19 Years Old.. Can i hire a car?

Hi there, me and 3 friends are thinking about booking a holiday for May 2008. We have looked into renting a car but a problem has occured. Many of the companys wont rent to under 21's. Me and 1 of my friends would like to be named drivers but we are both going to be 19 with 1 years fully uk licenced. Does any1 know any companys or ways of getting round this problem? Thanks. Matt.

you may find that alot of car rental companies will not allow you to rent a car until your 25 or over. If they do rent to 21 years old then they usually ask for an additional premium.

Try this option out from the forum. http://www.uscarhire.co.uk/u-save-car-rental.aspx

There are surcharges for under 21s but at least they rent to 19 year olds, which most of the other companies won't.

I rented a car for my son who is 19 in March with U Save. It's the only company that rents to under 21's. There is an additional $20 daily under age fee. There is also a limit to car size.

    Good luck

As has been said above, you can book U-Save through our site as a 19 year old. There is a daily surcharge of $20 plus tax per driver.
