    Northwest Airlines

    Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone has done Northwest of late. The are offering a very tempting fare (I know, I know, we should have booked ages ago), and it would be using an Airbus A330 from Gatwick to Detroit and then down from there. The Airbus means that the kids will get the individual seat-back TV's - (scary that this is something we look for now on flights!). The only thing that puts me off is that we had an awful flight using KLM as a codeshare for Northwest on an old 747 to Detroit. Admittedly this was about 14 years ago, but it has really put us off since then.

    Advice, as always, appreciated.

Euan, the better half uses NWA out of Schipol these days either into Detroit or Memphis, he rates them.

We flew Gatwick to Las Vegas via Detroit wth North West.

A330 from LGW to Detriot was great. A330 very modern with On-Demand entertainment. Food was different from the usual a choice of Uncle Bens Chicken & rice dish or Dolmio Pasta.

Detroit Airport is about as good as aiports get.

The Detroit to Las vegas leg is typical internal U.S. service

Would have no problem using them again and would choose the ahead of BA / Virgin dependant on Routes / Schedules

We used them from Gatwick to Orlando via Detroit in April. The fare was the lowest we have ever found to Orlando. The Airbus LGW to Detroit was very good, with one of the best entertainment systems. The only problem we had was that the connection at Detroit on the return was so tight that we questioned whether it was legal, but we made it (just), and so did our bags. Detroit seems pretty well organised.
