[u]Wednesday 10 October</u>
Well I woke up this morning and decided I was staying so had quite a lot to sort out.
The sun was high in the sky but I resisted the temptation for a quick dip as I needed to get onto a few folks. Most importantly I had to get hold of Mr. CDV to make sure he had nothing planned for us and I could tell him of my wish to stay. I rang him in Germany and he said straight away “Yeah no probs do what you like”, when he asked how long I would like to stay I said oh just another week and he said why not just stay for 2? I was chuffed at this and said I would see what was available flight wise.
Now this is where the fun began! I had as few problems with various things this morning out with my control and trying to get it sorted was a mare. I could not get more than local calls but about 2 hours later I was organised and ready to speak to Virgin and even more determined to stay now as I had wasted the morning! Well without boring you with all the details and conversations with the airline they wanted to charge me $1200 to change my seat by a week. Well I thought that was ridiculous really so I started looking around at other airlines and a few options were avail but there wasn’t really any for me as I like to fly direct from MCO into Manchester so it was Virgin or Virgin.
I then decided it would probably make more sense to rebook a new flight rather than change my original booking and yes this was indeed the case. So I gave up my PE seat (Well it was worth it for an extra 10 days in Florida) and rebooked an economy seat and wait it gets better still, I decided to use some air miles so the return seat cost me $76 (in tax) in the end which was waaaaaaaay cheaper than giving changing my PE sea. I of course lost my PE air miles and 3 tier points but what the heck!
I only managed an extra 10 days rather than 14 as the flights were chocka because of half term so I found a flight back on the 21 October, so it was off to sort out the next step, the car hire.
I had an Alamo hire through http://www.floridahire.com/ site and contacted Roger to see about extending the hire, but unfortunately with Alamo you can’t but it was no hassle whatsoever. I just rebooked a new car with Dollar this time as it was such short notice they were my choice. No hassles there then booked and paid for the new car hire and then phoned Mr. CDV to tell him the news. All happy there too.
Now to spread the news I wasn’t going home yet so contacted a few friends and instead of goodbyes more socials were arranged…yippee!!
Oops also I just remembered I had to let my parents know I wasn't arriving back that Friday as I had planned to spend a week with them before I flew back to Germany. I then I rescheduled my flights back to Germany too....phew all done, it's not easy being an International jetsetter you know[stupid1]
It was now almost 5 o’clock but who cares I was here for another 10 days.
That evening Rosie and Alan had invited me out for dinner as it was to be my last night, so I called to see if they wanted to go ahead or we could reschedule as they had been working all day and I was staying but no we went ahead with the plans and they arranged to pick me up at 6pm. So off I went to get organised and was ready when they arrived. We had not decided where to go and DTD and Raglan Road was suggested. I was pleased about this as although I have been there for a drink we have not eaten there just the chippy next door.
We arrived and only had a short wait for a table and before we knew it we found ourselves at the bar and I knew straight away what I was having…a chocolate Martini, it is yummy especially with Godiva chocolate liquor in it. Alan had some of the black stuff as did Rosie although hers was Coca Cola! We chatted about this that and everything and then the pager went off and we were shown to our table. I was really boring and decided I wanted to try the fish and chips. I then squeezed in another Chocolate Martini.[party1]
The Irish dancing was right behind our table so that was entertaining
