    Pre-register with Budget

We have just received our voucher [msnsmile2](yes less than 8 weeks to go)for our rental from Budget and noticed the following on the voucher.

<span style="color:blue">Collection Details</span id="blue">:<span style="color:blue">"Budget desk in the terminal or if you pre register you can avoid the queues and go straight to the Budget booth in the car park. Please pre register at https://www.budgetreg.com/index.php?11 "</span id="blue">

This link takes you to Budget's web page where you put in your name and voucher number but not having used this before my question is has anyone used this and what do you do about showing your licence?

You still need to take your license and have a credit card swipe. Pre-registering simply saves you time on collection at the desk as they will already have your details on file.

Funny I was going to ask the excact same question today , re the reply though, Does that mean we still have to go to the budget desk to be allocated our car ?, or as it says we go straight to the booth in the carpark ?
If the answer is the go to the Budget desk , how are we saving time ?
sorry for being such BLONDE [stupid2], but I get into such a panic when I go to car hire desks in case they hold me to ransom over extra insurance .

You still go to the Budget desk, so it only saves a few minutes actually at the desk itself as they will already have your license, card and address details.

It's not like Dollar's Express where you bypass the queue.

Is this still correct that you have to go to the desk? If so why does it say go to car hire booth in the car park on the voucher?

Also, when I try to do this online it gives me an error message that it cannot process the registaraion due to an advance notice restriction. What does that mean?

No, at Orlando and many other locations, you now go straight to the kiosk and bypass the desk (the above thread is out of date now).

The error message you get means you are too late to pre-register. Budget usually require 7-10 days notice for pre-registration.

Note, the pre-registration system is provided by Budget, so we can not offer any support on this.

    Roger,

Have just booked via 'US Car Hire' with Budget. I have been to their 'Registration' website and need a 'Budget Reservation Number'. Is this the same as the order number from my confirmation email (from yourselves) or will I get the required reference number when I get the booking voucher?

I believe it is the Confirmation number that Budget require - the one with GB near the end of the number
