Start of a long vacation - Part 4

    Sunday/Monday 7th/8th October

Decided it was about time I started my holiday and not just doing things in the villa. So, early both mornings, I was stretched out on my sun lounger, with my book, coffee, water and telephone in case I got a bit bored and needed a chat as I do[chatter]……Didn’t move for 2 whole days not even to go and get the Sunday paper, and managed at last some gentle exercises in the pool which helped with my knee no end. That is the problem, I can’t go my usual galavanting as my knee will not allow me to….yet.[msnwink]

    Tuesday 9th October

Starting to get a bit bored myself now, waiting for hubby to arrive on Friday, so I was well pleased when some friends of mine phoned to see if I would like to join them at Applebees on the US27. Not having been in one for over 10 years, this was a good excuse to try one out especially as it is so convenient for my villa. We did not arrive until 2045 thinking it would have started to empty out, but it was absolutely packed solid with quite a wait. We decided to sit outside on the veranda, and it was one of those perfect balmy evenings which is what coming to Florida is all about. I ordered steak and mini ribs which were very good, especially the mini ribs. They were so tender and just fell off the bone. Had the garlic mash and asparagus but thought I had better not be too naughty so did not eat much of the mash.[msnwink]

    Wednesday 10th October

Had arranged a night out with CDV so she picked me up and we went to Thai Thani on I Drive, which is one of my favourite Thai restaurants. It has authentic Thai wood carvings, beautiful carved tables, lots of Thai Bric a Brac and Thai dancers on certain nights of the week. We both started with the Tom Yum Soup. I had mine Thai hot and got to the stage of being unable to talk as my mouth was on fire. Lovely. I then had Chicken Red Curry which I again had Thai hot. It is making my mouth water just thinking about it. We had arrived at 1930 and we were the last to leave as we were so busy [chatter][chatter][chatter] We wound our way home and I fell into bed with an aching jaw and plenty to think about.[zzz]

    Thursday 11th October

Not going anywhere today as hubby arrives tomorrow and a few things to do round the villa. Still managed a good few hours sunshine outside and got my floating seat out so I could float around the pool with a drink in the side of it, and my book to read.[msncool] It was fabulous and I will be doing that hopefully on a daily basis from now. Had an early night and was looking forward to Friday………..to be continued

Just reading about your time at the villa makes me want to be back in Florida so much. We stayed at a hotel for the last couple of nights of our last visit and it makes you realise just how much more relaxed it is staying at a villa. No having to trail down to the pool and even better the pool to yourselves.

Hope your knee continues to improve. I am sure movement and exercise in the water will be beneficial.

Being the mum of a 5 year old, I can only imagine how lovely it must be to float in the pool with a book and a drink. Sounds like heaven!!

    I am soooooo jealous!!
