[u]THURSDAY 04 OCT DAY</u> 9
Just pottered around the villa today as we were planning on going out in the evening. Probably also spent half the day on the phone as norm! We left the villa around 4pm and drove over to Universal Studios for the HHN (Halloween Horror Nights). We decided to go to the HRC for dinner and got a booth straight away as I bought an all access pass years ago when I was in San Diego and it has been good ever since! Had a light dinner as we both had salads as they are big and tasty in the HRC. I washed mine down with a yummy cocktail but Mr CDV was driving so he was on the Coca Cola! We resisted dessert and left just before 6 to go to Universal and the HHN.
I had booked the tickets weeks ago as a surprise but was not sure if Mr CDV would like it. I was worried it would be too intense for me as I am not a fan of Freddie, Jason or Michaels movies and I would not sleep for weeks after it. [msnscared]
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was no where near as bad as I had imagined. We left the park at midnight after doing all the Haunted Houses and shows bar Rocky Horror, we even managed MIB twice plus Jimmy Neutron and also sneaked in some Nathans chili cheesy fries as the salad had worn off by then! I also had another couple of drinks but it was so hot I soon switched to water and diet coke plus I didn’t want to drink when Mr CDV couldn’t but he was not fussed in the slightest, bless him!
I won’t tell you anything about the actual HHN goings on here as it may spoil it for anyone planning to go in the next few weeks but I will be doing various articles in the upcoming weeks about all our outings in detail so keep an eye on the guides.
[u]FRIDAY 05 OCT DAY 10</u>
Just sort of chilled again as we did not get back til 1 am last night. I pottered around and Mr CDV had to go to the Ford garage to pick up some parts for our American car back home so I just did my thing around the villa as we were out that evening also 6 in a row so it’s been hectic! We had a Subway for lunch. I have to say the cooker has not been on this trip once which is very very rare indeed but being out every night and eating healthy cerial for breakfast there was no need.
Friday night I had organised an OV owners meet at the CheeseCake Factory for that evening at the Mall of Millennia. Whilst we were waiting on everyone to arrive we had over an hour to spare so Mr CDV popped over to Festival Bay to pick up some stuff for our neighbour back home who is mad on fishing so Bass Pro was on his list. I meandered upstairs in and out of Gucci and LV etc trying to decide what to buy with my 40th birthday money. I had a fab birthday with lots of lovely surprises but we decided it was safer for Mr CDV to do the main gift cash…lol and I would buy something when I got to Florida. In the end I only spent a quarter of it and I bought this lovely gold and diamond palm tree ring from Na Hoku which is the Hawain jewellers in the Mall, the ring actually matched some earrings and a pendent which Mr CDV bought me as a surprise extra present last Christmas which blew me away then as I had so much already, I am sooooooooo spoilt but I count my blessing every day with Mr. CDV. (Well most days anyway)
We had originally gone down to the Mall before everyone else to get ahead on the waiting list but it didn’t quite work out as planned and as they had told me one thing and did another but we got there in the end and seated everyone after about 40 minutes waiting which is normal on a Friday evening especailly on the first Friday of each month when the Mall puts on an event with live music and catering, it's called First Fridays funnily enough.
We even managed a full house with 22 of us and had a great night and nice to meet new and “old” faces. Lots of lovely food and drink was devoured. I was boring and hald my usual Shepherds Pie as did Mr CDV, no cheesecake for me but Mr CDV managed 80% of a Key Lime Cheesecake. This is one of my favs but I resisted and came away with half my Shepherds Pie in a box, it is so filling and the
