Thursday
……was an uneventful day to start with, up early as you do on day 1 but manged til after 6 am, just pottered around then decided mid morning that shopping was the order of the day as I had been here over 12 hours, so off I went off with car keys, cards in hand and a bottle of water…...hey what else do you need? Then decided to go over to North Orlando for a mooch. Roads were empty and had a straight forward drive in the brilliant sunshine as the temp was high 80s…phew. Aircon on and beloved K92FM blaring out……I just love the feeling of driving on the big wide roads with the sun beating down and not a care in the world, it certainly lifts the spirits!!
Had the day planned like a military operation so spent the first couple of hours wandering around filling up the trolley to bursting point doing my Christmas shopping and it was a case of one for Mum one for me, one for Dad 3 for me, one for Mr. CDV 6 for me….you get the picture! Needles to say I have added to the shoe and hand bag collection as well as a hundred other things I really needed! This was not a clothes shop either I shall do that next week!
I then decided to have some lunch so went to a Caribbean place which was yummy but made me a bit poorly ;+) so had to wait til I was feeling ok to continue with the marathon shopathon. Eventually shopped out in a few more stores and before I knew it it was almost 8 pm so I set off my favourite Caribbean Grocery store to get my fix of treats from the Tropics and come 9 pm I was being helped out of the shop as they were closing!!
I then drove back to the house in the dark and it was too late really to visit anyone, so folks were still not aware I was here yet! I got home and was too tired to unpack the car as it was full apart from the passenger seat. The Boot was full to the brim, 4 deep in bags….I love the shopping but I hate unpacking it (It is still in the garage
now Friday night).
I did however get into trouble when I got home as our friends who keep an eye on the house had been out when I arrived home and then when they arrived back shortly after me they saw different lights on and wondered what was up. So the doorbell rang and I open it as I knew it would be them and I don’t really think they expected to see me so I got into trouble for scaring them!! We sat and chatted for a couple of hours and eventually I fell into bed after midnight. I had sawdust and bananas to look forward to the next morning so needed my energy!
