Cinderella's Going To The Ball-help needed!

I've just booked to go to a ball in Birmingham. I would like to wear a long skirt and top -never worn a skirt for almost 30 years!

I would also like to lose a bit of weight-and I'm in Florida-what can I do.

The date is Oct 27-and I get back Oct 9th!

What can I do-half a stone would be good-but don't want to be miserable on my hols!!!!

I want to look really glam-it's going to cost me at least £300-so I really want to feel fab-ulous-and not FLAB-ulous!

Wow you are setting yourself a tough call I would say , start by super increasing your water untake, and replace lots of parts of meals with those lovely, freshly fruit cups from Publix Supermarket and WAl-mart and such! I lost 5 lbs at Easter in Florida and that was all I did, fruit for breakfast and lots of water..good luck[8D]

What do you enjoy doing the most, exercise wise. There is the option of doing daily walk around the community, early in the morning, you can get very interesting and different views of people and homes in the early hours. You could use the gym in celebration. Eating, I find I prefer to drink more in Florida than eat, Plenty of water, and have the chicken salads,if you are doing the parks I know Salads[sick] but I have found that between us, We have one chicken salad and a bbq beef roll and split it between us, I don't know whether its the sun but the Salads in Florida taste much better than back here. And there are loads of restaurants that do a low carb menu or calorie menu that are stunning. And at the very end, reward yourself with a day at the spa totally chilling. you could always go for the mud wrap things to lose a few inches [msnwink]

I always loose 2 - 3 lbs when I'm in Florida. I think its because I don't snack over there and probably to do with drinking quite a bit of water.

why not pop back onto the slimming Alison and we will support you as much as we can

7lbs may be a little unrealistic in such a short space of time but i have seen it done so not impossible, the important thing is to drink water, eat more fruit and veg, freshly prepare meals and eat less of the highly processed ones, watch that bread intake, less sat fat and to NOT allow yourself to go hungry

exercise is really important but i know you have limitations there, are you ok swimmimg?

good luck whatever you decide to do hopefully catch you over on the slimming sometime [msnsmile]

Thanks for help everyone. What is the cambridge diet. I am in a wheelchair so exercise apart from pushing myself is limited. I do eat lots of fruit and salads anyway and I do drink lots of water.

My downfall is cake and sweet things-so I guess I need to cut those out.

My friend Sue-also in a chair lost 12lbs in a month on the cambridge diet-have a feeling she had tp pay for it and was quite low in calories-does that sound right?

Yikes-it's just over 4 weeks and counting!!!!

    Alison

With exercise, you can do anything that you feel comfortable with, as long you as you are raising your heart rate and working for a mininum of 20 mins your are cardio exercising and burning calories. So it is very possible for you to have a few spins around the area in the early morning, it is not so hot then.

Instead of the cakes why not try the low fat ice-creams instead. Try also filling yourself with the appertiser and entrees that way you won't get to the deserts.
