delta to atlanta/orlando now have seat back tvs

We flew today with Delta to Atlanta in one of their newer 767's and it's got a new seat back tv system. You can pick from about 30 odd films, plus tv shows, games and cd's. All free and any person can stop and start their own choice as when they feel like. All touch screen tecnology.

Great news, having these screens is one of the reasons for flying with Virgin.

Can you fly direct with Delta?

We have always flown with DELTA and they stopped using the ones with tvs on board and used the ones with no tvs .
The cost went up when they came out of bankruptcy they put prices up a lot more. We have been collecting air miles with them for years and have had 2 free flights each .
We have flown via ATLANTA and JFK and they are very good so polite and all drinks free not included beer and wine used to be when we first flew with them but they started to charge .
All the staff of DELTA stopped taking pay rises to pull the company through something UK crews would not do I fear .
They sent us a e-mail saying thankyou for surpporting them in their time of need .
We will fly with them anytime even though not any direct flights via UK .
Sorry a bit long winded [msnsmile2]

Flights with delta are always indirect, either via atlanta, cincinatti or JFK new york.

    This flight was from Gatwick.

Maureen, yup we can remember when they used to use new 777's with seat backs, but then they switched to 767's with the tv screen hanging above the aisle. I think this 767 was either a later varient or it had been completely refurb'd as all the seats looked new. I like the idea of the little flaps in the headrest which come out a bit so that you cam lean one's head up against if taking a nap.

Great improvement for Delta Last time we did the Gatwick - Tampa via Atlanta route , couple of years ago, they had the large screens (in fact that was the only downside to the flight really. If a flight comes up again with them at the right price we would definately book, with or without the screens Getting to Florida is what we aim for[8D]

We flew with Delta for the first time last October. Had always gone with BA or Virgin before and all 5 of us agreed that the Delta flight was the best we had done.

We flew via Atlanta going out was a 777, so we had seat back TV's [msnsmile2], coming home was a 767. Didn't really miss the seaback TV's as we slept most of the time (first time ever). There was a few empty seats so we could stretch out a bit.

The crew were very good and didn't stop the whole time, offering us drinks etc. Nothing was too much trouble.

We are going to start looking soon for Aug/Sept and would prefer to fly with Delta now.

The best time to look for cheaper DELTA FLIGHTS is 6 months before your dates as they put their cheaper flights to agents and AUGUST /SEPTEMBER possibly to early yet .
    Hope this helps .

We flew with Delta last year Manchester-New York on the B767.Very impressed with the service and the addition of PTV will only make it better.
Unfortunate news for the Manchester service as of 2008 its being downgraded to the smaller B757 and I would guess no PTV.

The 757 we had for an internal flight from Atlanta to Denver had these seat back tv's.
