    Mytravel from Glasgow 2008

Booked with Direct Holidays (Mytravel) for Thursday 14th August 2008. Original flight no was MYT045 9.00 a.m. Paid some more money off my bill and received an amended invoice where the flight no and times are blank. Checked Direct/Airtours/Mytravel web sites and they are no londer selling Thursday flights. Phoned customer services and got no where they cant even confirm I will still be flying that day, sent an email and after 1 week have still had no answwer, surley someone must know if they are still going to fly that day. I know they are to merge with Thomas Cook and some people have had there flight number changed to a Thomas Cook one but we still have nothing. We have booked accomodation and parking at Glasgow and dont know where we stand if they cancel. Anyone have any info!

i cannot understand when you say you got nowhere with customer service?

it's dead simple phone and tell them if they cannot fufill the holiday as booked i.e flight dates and such then you would like a full refund and you will book elsewhere

i'm sure they will have some answers then [msnmad]take a good look at your contract and read "our duty to yourself" (the customer) and "amendments/changes"

if the first person you speak too can't/won't help ask to speak to someone in a supervisory position who can, and so on, take names all the way along the telephone chain if you're being passed about

be polite but firm and use the phrase "that's just not acceptable" a lot, it usually works for me

i also ask if the call is being recorded (as many are now) so they have it clear that you as the customer find the level of customer service unacceptable when you're about to be passed onto someone higher up

If they cancel that far in advance they have to offer you alternative flights or a full refund if those flights are not acceptable.

If they are merging it is quite possible that their schedule has not yet been finalized 11 months in advance.

Stay with it for till early next year then the merge should be over and they will know what they are doing. Another option would be to keep a look out for alternatives so you are prepared.

Are the flights part of a package or 'flight only'? If it's a package it's likely that ABTA rules will apply. If it's flight only then Robert's advice is the way to go.

I wouldn't worry too much at this point as you're almost certainly protected one way or the other. Don't forget that if you paid with a credit card you'll have that statutory protection to fall back on if you get no joy with the other routes.

Thanks for the replies. The holiday is part of a package flight and villa, and I paid some of the deposit with a credit card. Believe me there are 10 off us going on different booking and 3 off us have all phoned Customer Services and have all been told "we cant tell you anything as there is nothing on the system" We booked because the holiday is in our price range. Will give them a couple of weeks and if we here nothing will ahve to make a decision on what we are going to do.
