    Sorry!!!! Nationwide again

I have today opened a Nationwide Flex account just for when we go to Florida. I was asked if I want a credit card aswell.

Now I have a credit card and usually take it with me for the extra if I need it. Would it be a good idea to get another one with Nationwide and take that one with me instead of the one I have got.

Oh yes! You don't pay any charges for foreign purchases with a Nationwide credit card although you probably do with your other credit card (check out the small print, probably on the back of your statements). So you'll probably save about 2.75% for starters with a Nationwide one.

My answer is 'Yes'. Note that Nationwide are about to raise their charges for withdrawing foreign currency with the CREDIT card. I'm pretty sure purchases aren't affected though and it's still the one to beat for me.

No change to the (lack of) cost of withdrawing cash with the Flex Account DEBIT card.

Thank you. I will get myself one.

I wouldn't be getting cash with the credit card just using it for purchases and using my debit card for withdrawing cash.

Some of the credit/debit cards issued by other banks are raising their charge for foriegn currency from 2.75% to 3%.

I say 'charge' advisedly because that is what is - they give you 3% less than the VISA rate; where with Nationwide you get exactly the VISA rate with both credit and debit cards. So an extra 6 cents for every £1.
