I see their offer expires on Oct 15, then it's $199. How did they do it Bill and what if you have crowns? I must admit I'm a bit concerned about the health implications of any cosmetic proceedure especially long term.

Crowns, bridges, dentures and white fillings won't whiten - you will need them replaced if you whiten your teeth.
I recommend to my patients that they use sensodyne toothpaste for a few days prior to staring whitening and if there is any sensitivity while whitening then use sensodyne and whitening agent on alternate days. I also recommend that they routinely use a whitening toothpaste afterwards and to watch the red wine, black tea and coffee and curries while whitening

Thanks Judy, it's great to have a dentist on here who can give an experts view. Think I'll give it a miss as by the time I've had crowns and white fillings replaced it will work out very expensive!

in one of the fleamarkets 192, they have a set of chairs all rigged up.... lady tried stopping me and offered teeth whitening for $49.... think it was for a 30 minute go..... yeh right.... am sure it would only last for a day..... when you think how much it costs in a good dental surgery...... i was tempted... altho my teeth are a nice colour and shape i still would like them whitened but will save my money for future florida holidays!!

I had mine done at Windermere Village Dentistry in 2006, it cost $450. Unfortunately I found out that I have a really strong gagging reflex and couldn't keep the mouth shield/tough guard plastic thing in my mouth long enough so I had reduced time but the results were excellent! Even now my teeth are vastly whiter than they were before I had it done and the people were great.

There was some extra sensitivity at the beginning but it didn't last. The procedure was called ZOOM whitening, they paint bleach onto your teeth and put you under an ultra-violet light. I would have it done again but for the gagging problem!

Anita ,I was very interested in your post . Ive been having rather major dental work done recently and my Dentist persuaded me to have my teeth whitened to complete the job ,and like you I find I cannot use the shield overnight as I should because of a stong gagging reflex . I really have tried because Im not a quitter and here in Ireland its a rather expensive job to have done . my Dentist insists I will get used to it I dont think so .

We have just come home, and while there, in both the Prime Outlets, Premium Outlets and International Plaza in Tampa, all had Teeth whitening "booths" in the malls.

We didnt stop to ask the price, but it did look very professional, if you can put up with the indignity of sitting in the middle of a mall with a ominous looking laser device stuck in your gob!
