    Biometric passports

We've just received our daughter's new pasport with the "chip" in. I'm sure I read somewhere that thisonly contains information that can be seen in the passport anyway; her photo I presume and no "extra" information.
Does anyone know what information is on the section that is swiped below the photo with all the numbers etc.
Just general interest really no conspiracy theory[msnsmile2]

Exactly the same info as on the passport. You don't provide any other info, apart from your address, when you apply for a passport so the PO wouldn't know anything else anyway. [msnwink]

Thanks Blott. I was wondering whether it actually recorde somehow your enry dates into Florida for example and therefore made the stamps in the passport redundant; obviously not.

Can't see US Immigration doing away with stamping somehow - the US loves rubber stamps! [msnwink]

When it's scanned by their computer system though, it probably does bring up entry and exit dates that are stored in their system.
